Theatre Arts I (Drama I)

Theatre Arts I is an introductory study in theatre. Students will study voice and diction, improvisation, pantomime, acting, structure of drama, evaluation of drama, theatre history, play production, stage scenery, stage lighting, costuming, makeup, and oral interpretation/performance studies. Dramatics can be used for a fourth communication arts credit or as Fine Arts credit for graduation; however it may not count as an English Credit toward college entrance requirements.

Theatre Arts II Acting I, II, III

Theatre Arts (acting) is an advanced study in theatre where students will participate in acting. Students will be involved in production of competition one-act and reader’s theatre. Students will learn a variety of acting methods including: Stanislavski and Meisner. Actors are required to create and maintain a professional acting portfolio. Acting is a repeatable class and each year the students will learn different lessons.

Theatre Arts II Technical Theatre I, II, III

Theatre Arts (Tech.) is an advanced study in theatre where students will participate in areas of scene, lighting, costume, and make-up design. Students will also be involved in the marketing and publicity for the yearly theatre productions. This class is production oriented. Students will be evaluated on production assignments and their accomplishments in those assignments. Assignments include; Carpenters, different designers, scenic painters, drapers, house manager, business manager, electricians, and web-designer. Technical Theatre can be repeated and is also offered as a practical art.

Theatrical Arts III

Theatre Arts III is an advanced study in theatre where students will participate in areas of One-Act and Readers-Theatre Production. Students will be responsible for writing, directing and producing theatrical performances for compititions and middle/elementry school performances. Parkview Theatre's Traveling Performers.
